=============================================================================== PERFECT INVENTION An Attempt to Trace Trevor C. Horn's Surprise Attack on Pop Music (Last Updated: 2003-11-29) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Assembled by Joerg Fitzner. eMail: Additions, corrections and inquiries always welcome. Many thanks for contributing information and other kinds of commitment to this challange: Mark Wasiel, Lazlo Nibble, Ralph Schneider, Oliver Kinder, John Thobois, Henry van Iersel, Emmanuel Goedseels, Coen van den Geest, Paul Schilling, Gareth Edwards, Scott Weaver, Per Koch, Christoph Roeckerath, John Relph, Dave Gallant, Marjorie H. K., Jonas Warstad, Raymond A. Koh, Daniel King, Timothy Schoonover, Torben Brabo, Jesper Hall, Matthew Hane, Mike Brown, Wouter Weyland, Paul Gutierrez, Perry Glorioso, Paul Adams, Holger Adomat and Miles Sturt. Especially... * Mark for actually inducing the realization of this. * Ralph for standing never ending questions about silly matrix number details. * Lazlo for donating many exotic ordering numbers, lending me the general representation format and - more generally - opening new discographical horizons. * Timothy for rare info on many pre-Buggles projects. Special greetings to Richie Olbrich! This file is available through: Copyright (C) 1996-2001 by Joerg Fitzner. This discography may be used by anybody in any way, as long as it's not for commercial purpose, and as long as 'anybody' does not claim own copyright for it. =============================================================================== Contents 1. Preface 2. Contents 3. Introduction 4. Trevor Horn as Artist, Producer or (Re-)Mixer 1. Overview Table 2. Detailed Listing 5. Other Productions of TCH-Written Songs (Detailed Listing) =============================================================================== Introduction This discography is completely unofficial and mainly based on private devotion. It's aimed on covering all the music Trevor Horn has left his fingerprints on. Although this list seems to be quite extensive, there are undoubtedly many things missing. Partly this is by design (see ZTT Context below), partly by sheer incomprehension. The latter (lack of knowledge) divides into three fields: * Those records I don't know of at all, of course. * Due to the nature of data resources that merged into this discography, there are probably lots of catalogue numbers from foreign countries missing (for records which basically are included already). * Since several of Trevor Horn's newer productions aren't really that much of my personal taste anymore, there are sometimes certain details missing for those releases (especially with albums). You are encouraged to fill this gaps! ZTT Context As Trevor Horn has produced much stuff for his own record label "Zang Tuum Tumb", there's consequently a lot of stuff released on this label, which generally should be included here. Luckily there's already a fine discography dedicated to this label existing. It's maintained by Lazlo Nibble and intensively covers all the stuff required in this context. This could save a lot of work here... You can find it through: and Unfortunately Lazlo's discography does not contain any credits for the records listed. This doesn't allow to identify Trevor Horn's creative involvement intrinsicly. As a trade-off, I've decided to omit the detailed listing of three generic ZTT acts before year 2000 - namely "The Art Of Noise", "Frankie Goes To Hollywood" and "Propaganda". Trevor Horn's involvement should be roughly recognizable from the overview table, here in this very discography, as it's quite consistent within certain domains. All other ZTT releases with Trevor Horn's involvement are covered here in detail. =============================================================================== *************** Trevor Horn as Artist, Producer or (Re-)Mixer *************** =============================================================================== Overview Table ============== A W P Artist/Title ------------------------------------------------------------ Act + Laughter, Tears And Rage (LP) + -Chance!- ABC * Poison Arrow * The Look Of Love * The Lexicon Of Love (LP) * All Of My Heart * Valentine's Day * Mantrap (Music Film) - (Be Near Me) + (The Real Thing) + The Look Of Love (1990 Mix) + Absolutely (Best-Of LP) Marc Almond + Jacky - + + Tenement Symphony (LP) + My Hand Over My Heart - + The Days Of Pearly Spencer The Art Of Noise * * * Into Battle (EP) * * * Beat Box * * * Close (To The Edit) * * * Who's Afraid Of?
